buffer overflow

a new feel with parallel saturation

four knobs. one broken connection.

01

drive

0–127

one knob, six moves. it pushes your signal into a tanh saturation curve for richer harmonics, layers in warm tube-style bias, then rolls the top end down so it seats like tape. push past 100 and it tips into a bitcrushed “overflow” breakdown.

02

tone

−5…+5 db

a tilt eq that pivots at 800 hz, applied after the saturation. turn left for darker, right for brighter — one see-saw, always musical.

03

mix

0–100%

a parallel dry/wet blend, phase-aligned so nothing cancels. lay grit under the untouched original — 50% is saturation you feel, not just hear.

04

loss

0–100%

packet-loss dropouts on a timer, soft-edged so they never click. stereo-linked holes punch through the whole image — from subtle texture to fully glitched.
